Texas High School
Football History
NOTE: All of the classifications have been adjusted to the new U.I.L. lettering system.  Only the number of A's changed but this is apparently confusing to some media.  The five division 11-man system originated in 1951 with 4A being the top classification for large schools and Class B for the smallest schools. In 1980, the designations were changed to bring a system of 5A through 1A.  The latest system change occurred in 2014 and now the 11-man divisions are classified from 6A through 2A with the six-man league getting the 1A lettering.
